There are around 600 olive trees in the Park, along with roughly the same number of wild olives or oleaster. To your left is an example that is many hundreds of years old. Over the centuries, the trunk divided, giving rise to three branches with a very particular shape, almost a depiction of "Three dancers".  Other examples of Mediterranean scrub that you will encounter along the way, in addition to oleaster, are:mastic trees, myrtle, wild pear and giant fennel. In the soil around the latter, a delicious edible mushroom grows in the winter. This is regarded as the “Prince" of local mushrooms.
